AUTISM HANGOUT found at http://www.autismhangout.com is a wonderful resource for those in the autism community. Craig Evans begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting, host of the site, was kind enough to invite me to contribute via a webinar entitled, "When Words Fail, Music Speaks", and focused on Music Therapy and Autism. Visit the site for some great resources!
CHARLESTON MAGAZINE did a lovely job giving a glimpse into the use of Music Therapy in it's May 2008 issue. In an article entitled Abstract Expression, both the field of Music Therapy as well as myself and my Music Therapy practice were highlighted. Art Therapy, another wonderful and very effective form of therapy, was highlighted as well.
I was excited to receive a call from columnist, Shannon Proctor, of Charleston Magazine. Mrs. Proctor requested my participation in her upcoming article about various therapies. With permissions from my clients, she came to the studio to observe a couple of sessions. I greatly appreciated her high interest in Music Therapy as well as her commitment to correctly representing it. Photographer Ben Williams of Charleston Magazine was amazing as he somehow managed to take many, many photos with little to no disruption to my sessions and clients. The images he took were captivating. I appreciate, also, his commitment to wanting to capture the perfect image of Music Therapy.
